Barton On Sea

This project is split into three distinct parts: a masculine room, feminine room, and master bedroom.

Masculine Room

It was an absolute delight working on this bedroom. The clients’ son has grown up and moved to his own house but often visits. The clients have asked me to create an interesting but masculine and modern bedroom. The budget was tight so I had to prioritise my spendings. I opted for some higher value options on these particular elements: a deep pile carpet, Sanderson Flying Geese wallpaper was a must as I wanted to bring the inside in and handmade roman blinds with the Mappleton Mineral stripe fabric to connect with the masculine theme. Farrow & Ball Inchyra Blue on the walls creates required atmosphere and warm feel that the clients were after. I was delighted with the panel wardrobe doors and main entry door as I could transform them and combine the two colours used within the room. Oversized bedside lamps, two long bespoke mirrors and oak chevron wall art on the feature wall were deliberately chosen as the features for the room.

Scope of service: full interior design, project management, design, creation and fitting of handmade and bespoke roman blinds, sourcing and supply of the products and materials.

Feminine Room

This is another example of bedroom transformation for the clients of a house located in Barton on Sea. This was Lucy’s bedroom – the clients’ daughter. They wanted to achieve a light and feminine space for when their daughter comes to stay over. The brief was to keep existing inbuilt wardrobes, bed and a chest of drawers but transform them so they didn’t look old fashioned. The colour scheme incorporated light greys Farrow & Ball Purbeck Stone, white Wevet and blush pinks. Oasis Hummingbird wallpaper is soft and gently blends with the scheme. I have sourced interesting square mirrors that then I have added onto the wardrobe and above the chest of drawers plus following my design, I found the beautiful leather handles for the furniture. The client was particularly happy with the bedside pendant lights that can be turned on and off with the remote control. The feather lampshade was a perfect addition for the overall feminine look. Handmade roman blinds with Clarke and Clarke Elise Blush fabric and the bedlinen sourced allowed the blush pink to shine here. This plus the bespoke set of posters on the wall made all the elements of the room to connect. The bedside units fixed directly onto the wall were chosen for the following reasons: uncluttered feel, contemporary finish and space saving.

Scope of service: full interior design, project management, design, creation and fitting of handmade and bespoke roman blind, sourcing and supply of the products and materials.

Master Bedroom

The inspiration was the blue sea which can be seen in a distance. Client expressed liking to yellow and neutral colours. Coming up with the gentle, light and calming colour scheme was pretty delightful. Having worked with the client on the other rooms of the house and getting to know them helped me to make the right choices about wall finishes, soft furnishings, loose furniture and lighting. The triple wardrobe in place was fully transformed – fronts were covered with the same wallpaper as the feature wall. The colour of the paint was the same as the walls to create a seamless finish and the handles were changed to antique gold as were the light switches, sockets and other accessories. The client was delighted with the final look and especially praised the quality of the handmade and bespoke double pleated curtains, roman blinds and matching cushions.

Scope of service: full interior design, project management, design, creation and fitting of handmade and bespoke curtains, roman blinds and decorative cushions, sourcing and supply of the products and materials.
