A range of courses will be provided over the coming months to those adults that are keen to learn about home interior design, not forgetting about hands-on courses where you can learn high end techniques of handmade items such as roman blinds, curtains, cushions and more.
Roman Blind Making
Come to a one full day course where you will learn and gain skills to make a professional, bespoke and handmade roman blind. You will create it and take it home with you by the end of the day. Together with your sample blind and a step-by-step manual, you will be able to create more roman blinds for your home.
The course will be provided by me. As the owner and creator of an English home design company and now New Zealand one, you are in safe and professional hands.
You are welcome as an absolute beginner or if you wish to enhance your existing sewing skills.
Course Summary:
+ Learn how to measure windows for blinds
+ Calculate fabric quantity requirements
+ Understand pattern matching and pattern placement
+ Learn how to calculate folds and rod pockets spacing
+ Use of roman blind accessories including hardware, fixtures and fittings.
+ Child safety compliance when creating roman blinds
+ Discuss different types of blinds and fitting methods – understanding
pros and cons of inside and outside window recess fitting
+ Learn about professional aluminium headrails
+ Finally create your own bespoke and handmade roman blind
Your Blind Will Consist Of:
+Designer fabric for your blind
+All materials like lining and interlining
+ Professional aluminium track
+ Rods, bottom bar necessary for making your blind
+ All necessary accessories including fixings
+ Comprehensive step-by-step instructions
Payment Terms:
+ Deposit $250 (value of the blind) at the time of booking
+ Balance $70 – 7x working days before the beginning of the course
+ Bank transfer – account details will be supplied
+ Deposit and balance is non-refundable but your booking can be rescheduled in case of unexpected illness or emergency
